UHV is a quality, low-cost higher education institution with national accreditation and high-ranking programs! International students who study at UHV receive a cultural experience they won’t forget in the small, vivacious American town of Victoria, Texas, or they can opt for a big-city feel by choosing the Katy campus. Our main campus is located in South Texas in Victoria, only 25 minutes from the beach and 2 hours away from Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, which are some of the biggest and most well-known cities in the US! Our campus for upper-level and graduate students in Katy is only 20 minutes outside of Houston.
At $18,000 USD for tuition per year, we are one of the most affordable universities in the United States AND we guarantee a scholarship to every admitted international student. Our competitive Merit Scholarship awards in-state tuition to those whose application is selected, which amounts to between $3,000 and $9,000 USD in scholarships. Students who do not receive the Merit or who do not apply for it receive our Cultural Scholarship by default, which saves them $3,000 per year!
Our programs in Business Administration; the Arts & Sciences; and Education, Health Professions, & Human Development prepare students for their careers through practical application, hands-on learning, and knowledgeable instruction by qualified faculty.
The School of Business has nationally-ranking degree options and has accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in addition to UHV’s accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Within the School of Arts and Sciences, study options in Biology prepare students for medical or health professional programs or graduate work in the bio-medical sciences through focus on the three areas of genetics/biotechnology, pre-health professional, and plant/environmental. The program provides students with job skills in biotechnology and the necessary academic background for further degrees in the field. UHV’s state-of-the-art DNA-Environmental Biology labs help students learn skills such as modern molecular techniques and environmental testing as well as giving the opportunity for independent research projects.
Right now is a great time for students to apply to the Computer Science program. Faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences recently won grant opportunities from the US Department of Defense to boost research in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, allowing our international students to work on projects while offering students scholarships and graduate assistantship opportunities. Many of our graduate computer science students are working on some form of graduate assistantship within the CS program; this is a key feature to which many schools cannot attest. At UHV all of our MSCS students are receiving funding to study and take part in research position projects within Computer Science. More information about UHV’s Artificial Intelligence work can be found at ai.uhv.edu.
All of these assets combine to make UHV one of the best for quality and low-cost tuition. Our UHV faculty, staff, and students strive to welcome international students and make them feel at home while earning their degree. Come check and see!
